Swimming in poop water at 40 degrees. Even the “iron man” vomited

The triathlon is a triathlon that consists of swimming 1.5km, cycling 40km, and running 10km. The sweltering heat of Tokyo, with a sensible temperature approaching 40 degrees, and the stench of Odaiba Beach, which vibrates with the smell of sewage, made even the iron man fall. Athletes who came close to the finish line vomited, and staff were busy pouring bottled water.

The match started at 6:30 am to avoid the sweltering heat, but an unprecedented restart occurred in history. The departure signal was given on time, but the organizers decided to start again because the boat was floating on the swimming course.

Most of the 51 swimmers got it and started swimming, but with this decision, the game started about 10 minutes later than scheduled. Odaiba Marine Park was close to a battlefield. Yahoo Sports columnist Dan Wetzel said, “No player can beat the 67% humidity. Japan's Olympic organizers lied about the weather, and the athletes paid the price. The players are tangled on the floor and the trainers are running around to help them.”

In an article titled “Swimming in poop, fear of sewage runoff at Olympic venues,” Australian Fox Sports wrote, “We are concerned about the water quality in Tokyo Bay. Triathletes are concerned.” Japan, where it was said that the players could show their best skills as the days were mild and sunny. No one apologized for the weather that day.

On the 23rd, during the women's archery ranking round, Russian player Svetlana Gomboeva (23) fainted. The temperature in Tokyo that day was 33 degrees, and the sensible temperature reached 38 degrees. Eva Gomboeva was checking her score after she had fired 72 shots, and she suddenly lost consciousness.

The Summer Olympics always run from mid-July to the end of August,” Wetzel said. It is also a time when NBC does not need to compete with large sports events such as the NFL,” he said, pointing out the relationship between the IOC and the media.

Christian Blummenfeld (27, Norway) won the men's individual triathlon triathlon at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 1 hour 45 minutes 04 seconds despite adverse conditions. He became the first Norwegian player to become the 'brightest iron man'.

Blummenfeld was tied for 10th in swimming in the first event, but moved up to 4th in the cycle and was the first to cross the finish line in the final sprint. 2nd place was taken by Alex Lee (UK), who finished the race in 1:45:15. Wild Hayden (New Zealand) finished third with a time of 1:45:52.
