(Tesla) Applying 'Yoke' steering wheel to Model S & Model X

Existing column-type gear removed... 17-inch horizontal display mounted.

Tesla unveiled the Model S and Model X improved models with a new interior design.

The core of these improved models is the interior dashboard. The 17-inch vertical display, which was the symbol of the Model S and Model X, disappeared, and a 17-inch horizontal wide display was applied in its place. A 12.3-inch full digital cluster (instrument panel) is also included in the driver's seat.

On Model S and Model X, two-row 8-inch displays are located near the center armrest. Tesla explained that a gaming computer with a performance of more than 10 teraflops was installed inside the vehicle.

Passengers in the back seat can enjoy gaming on the 8-inch second-row display. Tesla explained that the wireless controller was interlocked in the room, but did not specifically mention the identity of the wireless controller.

The Model S and Model X are equipped with a 'tri-zone temperature control' function that allows you to freely adjust the indoor temperature according to the season. The wind blows out from the bottom of the full digital cluster and near the dashboard on the passenger side, and this wind prevents the interior from overheating and keeps the battery warm in winter while optimizing battery performance.

The most impressive thing is the steering wheel.

Tesla applied the ‘yoke steering wheel’ design found in concept cars to the Model S and Model X. This is similar to the steering wheel inside the new roadster concept that was unveiled in 2017.

There are no column gears around the yoke steering wheel. Tesla explains that it is possible to enjoy the best driving without a gear, but it is not known how it can park (P), reverse (R), and drive (D).
