8. Is there any secret to success as an idol or a celebrity?
Since I was little, I have seen my seniors and juniors and I have also done productions, but I used to say a lot of things in the past. Skills, preparation, attitude, sincerity, etc. There are many factors, so we talked about many things, but now the years have passed. just these days. It almost seems to end with one thing. You have to hang on.
We enter this business thinking that we can be successful quickly. Nevertheless, it usually takes 7 years to gain even a little public recognition. Just how I feel on average. It took me about 7 years to see celebrities with a certain level of recognition... No one comes to this business thinking about 7 years.
I usually start with that mindset that I can debut and succeed within a year or two...
In reality, there are very few people who will become famous within 7 years.
9- Of course, everyone is different anyway, but isn't 7 years too long?
But if you think about it, 7 to 10 years may not be long. Let me put this way. How many years will it take for regular employees to become the president of a company? It will take 20 to 30 years, right?
But as celebrities, if we succeed anyway, I think we are at that level. It's a world where you can become a president in 7 years. Isn't that too fast when you think about it?
Because I never had a regular job. It's really hard for me to explain this world to my young friends. However, I try to be as honest as possible.
10. However, isn’t it hard to talk about that way since you did not spend such a long time?
Correct. In fact, I was successful rather too quickly. If I had only been a celebrity, I wouldn't have been able to say that way. I saw a lot of people.
I've been working with hundreds of people. I've been in the entertainment industry for 18 years. After working with hundreds of celebrities and rookie trainees, I started to feel that kind of shame.
11. It was not an easy choice, so why did you challenge yourself as an idol?
What I feel right now is that everything in the world seems to be the same.
Everything in the world is done through fierce odds. But why jump? Aren't we all thinking the same thing?
Can i do it? But on the other hand, no, no way. I don't think I could have done it if I looked at the probability.
But rather than that, maybe I'm taking on a challenge because I have a clear sense of purpose that I really want to do this job. Anyone can dream and challenge their dreams.
12. What would you like to say to those who want to succeed as idols and trainees?
There is only one thing I say to the trainees.
Wouldn't it be nice to debut too much now? 'Yeah! It’s good just to debut.”
In fact, at first, they said that it would be good to enter the company. I wish I could just audition.
Now, what's next? I want to debut.
What's next? It's the same. I wish I could go to a music program. I wish I could stand on stage.
What's next? I want to be number one. What's next? I want to go to the awards ceremony.
Then what? I want to be targeted.
What's next? I want to go abroad.
After going abroad? I also want to gain popularity abroad. I want to become a world star.
I think dreams are good. You work hard to achieve it and put your passion into it. everything is good.
There is a limit at some point. Then, at some point, you have to be satisfied with yourself and praise yourself, 'I've worked hard, I think I've done well enough now'...
Most people think that their life is a bit of a failure. But then I want to ask you what the hell is failure? After all, the purpose was to debut. I did it, but I am not satisfied.
13. But maybe you could go to the top because you had willingness?
Right. But I think it would be better if that desire was pure.
In a way that allows me to focus on what I was originally aiming for and exclude influences and other things around me. Even though we have climbed this mountain, we have to climb that mountain, and then people get tired.
14. I came here to cover an elementary school student who is about to audition for SM Entertainment?
I have to challenge. Because I'm still trying. Life is not divided into 'success or failure'.
That could be other people's standards anyway. Success or failure is not someone else's criteria, it's your own opinion.
I think it should be a challenge. Why? You live once. What if I fail a little and get criticized?
Of course, when other people see you, you might say, ‘Because you’ve succeeded, you can talk comfortably’, but I’ve also failed a lot. I'm always afraid too.
I don't think the word failure itself has any meaning. Success is known to those who have failed, and I don't know how to succeed without failure. All the great people, business people, and there are people who don't have a story behind them. There is no one who grew up to be wealthy and was happy only to become a great person.
We always learned it when we were young. Life is a failure, basically. I don't think young people can understand that now, but... When you do, you feel limited. Either he bumps into it and drills it, or I'm not on this road, so I'll have to find another way, because it's up to you. In a way, I think that life is learned quickly. In fact, the competition.
Idols have a really big competition. It would be great if you could quickly find out what makes you happy in that competition.
