BTS achievements, but must face difficulties (1 of 2)

“Successful idols live in an unrealistic world. Thousands of people cheer for me when I get on stage, and pouring gifts and fan letters become too many to take care of them.” (H.O.T, Tony Ahn)

Tony Ahn from H.O.T often said he wondered if he could be the main character in the movie 'The Truman Show'. He has lived an unbelievable life.

Below are 14 interview questions.

1. Is the life of a successful idol really happy?

Whether you are an idol or not, not all lives can be happy. It seems natural to feel happy, but also is obvious to feel the pain. However, we think the range is wider. Happiness is great, but we must face a lot of frustration or pressure on the other hand.

Because of the pressure to stay at the top, we had to practice more and study harder rather than enjoy something. I think that was the day of our past five members of H.O.T.

It is too hard, so we try to relax ourselves by drinking with the members. In fact I think that was almost everything in our lives.

2. You mentioned that you had great memories of the boyband, but you didn’t want to go back. Do you think it was unfortunate?

It wasn’t that I was unhappy then, but I think I am happier now. Actually, I am a person who achieved my dream that I could not have imagined before, and the work was, of course, very difficult. However, it is a part of my life that I have to sacrifice as much as I have gained.

The fact that I don’t want to go back to that time is that I have already been through all of that time. There were some really good ones and some really hard ones, but I thought it would be good to just leave them as memories of the past.

3. There are elementary school students who dream of becoming an idol because they want to become the best in the world, but maybe because of ‘H.O.T.’, K-pop was possible today?

It is BTS that made the dream of being the best in the world even possible. In fact, we didn't even think about Asia. It was a time when we only thought about Korea. Although we have advanced into Taiwan and China, we cannot say that we have established a foundation. Still, there are a lot of fans.

4. BTS that we see and BTS from Tony Ahn’s perspective must be different.

Actually, I don't know for sure. They are friends who have accomplished far greater achievements than we did. Honestly, 10 times? 100 times?

However, still I know. BTS that I see is that ‘it seems too be very difficult’. It will be very difficult.”

5. What is the most difficult thing about BTS right now?

Simply put, the physical part would be difficult. There will be too many schedules. Now, due to covid-19, they cannot go abroad, but it will be physically difficult to travel around the world and make performances.

They are receiving so much love, but anyway, they will be feeling loneliness. They wouldn’t even have freedom to go abroad

In addition, the pressure to move forward. They must keep the high standard and protect where you are. I personally think that only those of people who have won Olympic medals or won first place around the world can understand.”

6. After all, isn't this kind of power coming from the fandom? It seems that the age of fandom has now opened, but how do you feel about your fans at that time?

It still feels like a dream. In fact, what should I say about the love that fans gave, they did not give it while expecting something. It's just love, real love. Just the love that parents give to their children.

In the past, there was a time when we lived with the big illusion that the things we enjoy were made by hard work, but now we don't have that illusion.

We want to be loved, and our greed is endless. If we feel self-satisfaction at the right level, we can be happy.

7― What can you feel on the stage where idols stand?

Everyone must have had the experience of standing on stage at least once.

Even if it’s not music, there is feedback that comes when you challenge something in any presentation or sports event. The feeling you get when you try and achieve something.

The difference between a singer and an actor is that the actors film and later feel it through the video, but we have the joy that we feel right away on set. Should I say my heart is beating? I still feel it Tension before going up. The energy you pour out while dancing and singing when you go up.

A sense of relief and accomplishment when it's all over. You can feel it in 5 minutes. I like the applause of people, but there is also the joy I feel for myself.
