Kia unveils camouflage model of midsize pickup truck 'Tasman'

Kia unveiled the camouflage model of its first midsize pickup truck, the 'Tasman', set to be launched next year, on the 23rd. The camouflage model is a preview of the general design direction before revealing specific details.

The Tasman camouflage model signifies Kia's serious approach to the Australian market. Collaborating with Australian-New Zealand artist Richard Boyer Dunlop, Kia developed the design. The name Tasman is derived from Tasmania, the southernmost island of Australia, and the Tasman Strait. Kia plans to sequentially launch the Tasman in the domestic and Australian markets from next year.

The colorful camouflage design embodies the essence of Australia's nature, depicting the sunset scenery with reds and yellows. Additionally, blue, symbolizing the vibrancy of the sea, is used to represent Australia's surfing culture. A Kia official stated, "To express the beauty of nature and the spirit of adventure, an organic and bold pattern that abstracts the harmony between land and sea in Australia was applied."
